Originating in the late 1970s European electronic dance scene, electro techno records have since developed under the influence of both European and American new wave, funk and futuristic fiction. As the name suggests, electro techno records are marked by the use of technologically generated sounds and beats, brilliantly programmed to create hypnotic, compelling, must-dance rhythms.
Vitalic music – synthetic, but never fake.
Frenchman Pascal Arbez, aka Vitalic, described his 2005 debut album as mixing “dance music, experimental, organs and French music.” Yet all Vitalic music is fake, inasmuch as it’s all created by Pascal from a synthesiser. However, with diverse influences as Daft Punk, Sparks, Giorgio Moroder and The White Stripes, plus the dynamic emotional input of its creator, Vitalic music effortlessly sets the dancefloor alight.
